Functional Yoga Therapy for the Structural System
Immersed in the therapeutic power of yoga, you will be led through the structural forms of the moving body and become aware of the common imbalances that can lead to injuries and pain. Yoga Teachers from all traditions will benefit from this fundamental workshop that puts anatomy in motion. We explore key muscles and joint movements through asana and experiential exercises. We address common injuries and ailments of the musculoskeletal system — including low back and sacroiliac joint, hip, knee, foot, shoulder, wrist and neck.
In This Course You Will Learn:
- Understand various contributors to musculoskeletal ailment, injuries and pain such as the manner of breathing and postural and movement habits
- Identify the different roles of muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and cartilage in musculoskeletal discomforts
- Understand the therapeutic application of asana for recovery from structural ailments, injuries and pain.
- Assess students structurally to create treatment protocols and a yoga program to help bring the body into balance and recovery.
Training meets the qualifications for 54 contact hours for nurses, as required by the California Board of Registered Nurses; provider number CEP 13960 and 45 continuing education units available for certified yoga instructors through the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (IAYT) and Yoga Alliance. Attendance for the full duration of the six-day training and completion of homework are required to obtain a certificate of completion.

The online session is 4.5 hours. Please allow for 3.5-4 hours of required independent work outside of online class per day. In order to receive a certificate of completion, participation for full duration of the course, including class discussions and breakout rooms and completion of homework are required. When on Zoom, camera will be on unless necessary and agreed upon with faculty.
Unraveling The Knot of Stress, Inflammation, Pain & Sleep
Open to all Kundalini Yoga Teachers and Yoga Therapists from any tradition. Foundations of Kundalini Yoga Therapy: Principles and Practices is a prerequisite.
This course is part of the International Kundalini Yoga Therapy Professional Training.
Unraveling The Knot includes Kundalini Yoga methods but all yoga teachers and yoga therapists from any tradition will benefit from the content.

The science and ancient yogic tradition of how these 4 aspects of human physiology – stress, pain, inflammation and sleep – are entwined and sometimes entangled. Through the technology of Kundalini Yoga and yogic lifestyle, we untangle and liberate the source of these conditions to restore health and vitality.
