Military training in trauma responsive kundalini yoga

Sat Naam,

As a board member of the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine & Humanology, I represent and promote research on Kundalini Yoga as a therapeutic intervention.

I am also a Harvard Medical School yoga research scientist and serve the Kundalini Research Institute, the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and the Yoga Alliance, as director of research.

I am keenly aware of the strong and credible science and research evidence showing that yoga and yoga therapy are highly effective at improving physical and mental health, self-regulation of stress and emotion, mind-body awareness and mindfulness, and even spirituality, life meaning and purpose.

Through their effects on the underlying root causes of disease, yoga practices can reliably reduce symptom severity and, in some disorders, can actually reverse the disease process and restore complete health.

The techniques and practices of Kundalini Yoga Therapy as taught through the Guru Ram Das Center‘s International Kundalini Yoga Therapy Professional Training fully prepare teachers to serve in medical settings.

Further, research on Guru Ram Das Center-related Kundalini Yoga Therapy interventions has already yielded valuable clinical research trial publications on anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder in peer-reviewed biomedical journals, including a landmark study published in the prestigious leading medical journal JAMA Psychiatry.

And since June, the faculty of the accredited KY Therapy training has undertaken the huge task of training Kundalini Yoga teachers in trauma responsive skills and essential protocols to serve those in war zones and other conflict areas.

The continued deepening of this work is more urgent then ever and your generosity has impact in ways it never has before. Thank you for supporting this unprecedented effort.

Your gift makes this important work possible.

The need for the Guru Ram Das Center to continue this work is invaluable, and my service to the board of this center is strongly in support of its work and mission. Please make your tax deductible donation today. Thank you.

Sat Naam,

The Guru Ram Das Center has begun cooperative conversations to conduct scientific research on the Kundalini Yoga Therapy Protocols being taught by the Ukrainian teachers we’re training.

dr sat bir singhGuru Ram Das Center board member, Sat Bir Singh Khalsa, PhD, is working closely with his counterparts at the G.S. Kostiuk Institute of Psychology of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine to develop research models that document the outcomes of each trauma responsive protocol that our teachers bring into military settings.

This effort is the first of its kind.

By this time next year we may have valuable data that measures the effects of Kundalini Yoga Therapy for each of the specific military populations Ukrainian Kundalini Yoga teachers are serving: Rehabilitation, Recovery from Traumatic Brain Injury, Women and Children Affected by War, and Amputees.

Your donation of any size supports the Resourcing Ukrainian Resilience initiative and ensures that groundbreaking trauma responsive Kundalini Yoga reaches those impacted by the war to restore stability, endurance & resilience.

With carefully designed research methods, we look to clear and constructive data to both document Kundalini Yoga therapeutic benefits in each of the populations being served, and to help us further refine these already effective protocols.

With this research, your gift has meaningful impact that reaches beyond the military. The more the effectiveness of Kundalini Yoga Therapy is scientifically demonstrated, the closer we are to serving in broader settings, including Ukrainian medical and educational communities.

Thank you for believing in the transformative power of Kundalini Yoga Therapy. Together, we are helping the Ukrainian Kundalini Yoga teachers repair lives.

All blessings,

Shanti Shanti Kaur

Sat Naam,

With your help, we’re building on the therapeutic trainings begun in June of this year, offering specialized trauma responsive training and protocols to Ukrainian Kundalini Yoga teachers into 2024.

In each training, teachers gain life changing skills to serve those experiencing specific trauma such as Loss of Limb and Traumatic Brain Injury in military settings throughout the country.

The Ukrainian Teachers need your help!

With the enormous need for therapeutic protocols, the scope of Resourcing Ukrainian Resilience is shaping up to be a three-to-five year initiative as we offer continued training and ongoing support for each individual teacher.

It costs $7,500 to develop and deliver each protocol. Your donation of any size supports the Resourcing Ukrainian Resilience initiative and ensures that groundbreaking trauma responsive Kundalini Yoga reaches those impacted by the war to restore stability, endurance & resilience.
