Trauma Informed Kundalini Yoga for Recovery from Post-Traumatic Stress
Participation is open to Level 1 Certified Kundalini Teachers who have taken Foundations of
Kundalini Yoga Therapy: Principles and Practices. Learn how to teach trauma informed
Kundalini Yoga to people recovering from Post-Traumatic Stress
No matter what the cause of the trauma, movement through Kriya, breath and mantra are
time-tested approaches clinically demonstrated to be effective in helping people reconnect
with their body, reduce symptoms, and provide the support to move from a state of
reactivity to an experience of safety and calm.
This training is skill based: you will leave knowing how to safely teach Kundalini Yoga to
those recovering from trauma, no matter what the source. You will learn and practice the
specific skills you need to compassionately, safely, and effectively instruct a trauma
informed Kundalini Yoga course for people recovering from Post-Traumatic Stress.
This training is science based: you will learn how trauma dis-regulates the brain, nervous,
structural, and endocrine systems and what specific practices of Kundalini Yoga re-set self-
regulation over the effects of trauma.
This training is research based: Three scientific studies on the 10-week curriculum you will
teach demonstrates this evidence based Trauma Informed Kundalini Yoga curriculum is safe
and effective for those recovering from trauma. In addition, you will receive a review of the
published studies on the bio-medical effects of yoga practice on trauma recovery.
You will not find this collection of skill, science, and research on the process of recovery
from trauma through Kundalini Yoga anywhere else.
At the end of the training you will be able to:
1) Identify the indicators of Post-Traumatic Stress and what is necessary for

and how a specific practice of Kundalini Yoga restores healthy regulation to these systems.
3) Gain skill in methods to co-regulate with your students and clients

Training meets the qualifications for 45 contact hours for nurses, as required by the
California Board of Registered Nurses; provider number CEP 13960, 37.5 continuing
education units available for certified yoga instructors through Yoga Alliance and 37.5
Advanced Professional Development hours for yoga therapists approved through the
International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (IAYT) Attendance for full duration of
five-day training and completion of assignments are required to obtain certificate of

context of a professional training, can be activating. We encourage those who seek to
include the practice of Kundalini Yoga as part of their trauma recovery to take the evidence
based 10-week course taught by one of our graduates.
