Finding and Understanding Yoga Research: What Constitutes Good Yoga Research?

Finding and understanding research can be a daunting task. Have you ever wanted to look at the medical literature on yoga therapy but weren’t sure where to start or how to evaluate the studies?

In this course you will: 

  • Learn how to find research studies on yoga therapy
  • Understand how to evaluate the quality of research
  • Apply evidence-based approaches to your yoga therapy practice and teaching

Times: 

This is an on demand course and can be taken at your own pace.

Plus a 30 minute pre-recorded session by Dr. Shanti Shanti Kaur Khalsa on the applications of this course to yoga therapists and a 30 minute pre-recorded session by Dr. Julie Staples on how to apply this course content to marketing your yoga or yoga therapy programs.

Full cost is $158

Certificate/Continuing Education Information:

Certificate of participation/continuing education credit requires the following: Attending the 4 live course sessions, listening to the 2 pre-recorded sessions and completing a homework literature research assignment OR listening to all 6 recorded sessions (4 live sessions and 2 pre-recorded sessions) and completing the homework literature search assignment.

Approved for 7 hours of continuing education credit for yoga therapists by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).

Approved for 8.4 contact hours for nurses as required by the California Board of Registered Nurses, Provider # CEP13960.

This course is one of the seven required online segments included in our 1,000 hour International Kundalini Yoga Therapy Professional Training but it is applicable to all forms of yoga therapy and open to everyone. You do NOT have to be enrolled in IKYTPT or be a Kundalini Yoga teacher, and no background in research or statistics is necessary.
